I grew up patriotic. My favorite song in elementary school was Toby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue,” most likely because of his single line about sticking a boot up terrorists’ asses. My earliest memories involve my heart swelling up with pride whenever I caught a glimpse of a soldier in uniform or masses of people shouting “USA” at political rallies. I grew up never doubting that the United States and its values are worth cherishing, passing onto future generations, and defending every day. But like many people today, I realize that a war is being waged against the U.S. not only abroad, but also on our home turf. I was appalled that many Americans perceive our heritage not with pride, but with shame, and that the media and left-wing politicians are working overtime to fundamentally alter the America I have grown to love. That terrifies me. And I wanted to do something about it. This blog therefore represents my attempts to push back against the liberals’ ploy and to offer a different viewpoint against the backdrop of the mainstream media. After all, I believe this country is worth fighting like hell for.
